Technology Orientation for Architects

For the American Institute of Architects (AIA), we developed a technology orientation on Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is a process by which digital representations (objects) of the physical and functional characteristics of a space are generated and managed.

This one-hour course, BIM: The Big Picture, was developed with subject matter expert, David Scheer, in collaboration with Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP). The course provides a high level overview of BIM, including: how it used in the office, how it benefits owners and project teams, how BIM affects the daily work of architects, and the current implementation challenges.

The course was developed in compliance with AIA standards for continuing education unit (CEU) credit.  It can be taken at AIA University.
